- Akan wooden comb depicting a bird with its head turned backwards while its feet face forward, carrying a precious egg in its mouth. It is an Adinkra symbol called "sankofa" which literally means "go back and fetch it", an African wise symbolizing learning from the past to build the future. Other Akan symbols are carved on the plate, as well as the owner's name and the date 1939.
