Bodkin-style hairpin with amethyst (3)

Gildes silver hairpin ending with a dagger-shaped point, very popular in the 19th century, untill the beginning of the 20th. Tear-drop (boteh) finial of foliated openwork set with amethysts. Many of these kind of hairpins have survived as brooch conversions.
