- Hatsuyume ( 初夢) is the Japanese word to call the first dream of the year. The tradition says that this first dream brings good luck to the dreamer for the new year, especially if he/ she dreams about the Fuji Montain ( fuji 富士), eagles (taka 鷹) and aubergine ( nasu 茄子) together. Why these three symbols combined? There are only divergent opinions. But this set was certainly offered to a woman to facilitate this dream.
