- Africa
- Congo (Democratic Republic)
- Width : 1 3/4 inch
- Height : 5 1/8 inch
- Depth : 1/4 inch
- Carved out of ivory, this comb depicts two birds with their beaks joining into a vase. This motif, rather frequent in the Tchokwe sculpture could be linked with protecting spirits. The reddish colour probably comes from natural dyes.
