- This kind of hairpin is one of a pair. It is a part of different ornaments used to embellish the complex Mongolain hairstyle (see pic.4). The stapes shaped part is to hold a braid on each side of the head. The decoration is typical of Mongolian jewellery with coral beads and enamelled silver.
