  • Njikoum is the name of a wise patriarch. He reunified the two villages of Tikar and Ngambé. Here is his story: In the peaceful village of Tikar, there was one day a dispute about an heritage. A war broked out and one part of the village went to settle on the other side of the Ngambe river and they chose their own chief. The other part staid in Tikar. After years, a wise patriarch succeeded in convincing the two chiefs that they were from the same ancestor. After some difficulties, the two villages joined again and the younger chief left the place to the elder. For the whole village, Njikoum embodied the peace and wisdom qualities, so they raised in the main place a huge statue of him. Since that event, his image is carved on many objects. Donation: M. Abilou Mjomkwet.
